Associate of Applied Science in Fire Science
The Associate of Applied Science Degree in Fire Science presents the basic theoretical foundations for leadership in fire service organizations, establishing a foundation upon which to build a career in Fire Science. Extending from a comprehensive curriculum of fire prevention and fire protection, the A.A.S. in Fire Science program takes a multi-professional approach to policy integration and academic preparation in specialized fire service equipment and apparatus applications. Bachelor of Science in Fire Administration
The Fire Administration degree offered at Waldorf College includes the Waldorf College general education curriculum, a significant portion of the Waldorf Business major, and six 3-credit fire science courses. The degree prepares students for leadership and administration in fire service organizations. The program presents a balanced curriculum, and contains courses identified by the National Fire Academy, U.S. Fire Administration, and the National Fire Protection Association for use in academic settings. Special emphasis is placed on management and leadership techniques, organizational and professional communications, problem solving, and other programmatic solutions to fire science operational problems. Offering this major is consistent with the mission of Waldorf College in that it gives students a broad academic background and prepares them to give back to the world and their communities through service as leaders in the field of fire science. This program also prepares the student for a professional position in the business world, thus affording additional career opportunities.
