72 Credit Hours Syllabus Terms 2 - 4 The Associate of Science Degree Nursing Program is comprised of 72 credit hours, which includes theory, lab, and clinical rotation experience. This experience will cover medical, surgical, obstetric, pediatric, geriatric and psychiatric nursing. Reinforcement of basic skills in English, Mathematics, and Sciences appropriate for the job preparatory program will occur thorough didactic instruction and applied laboratory procedures/practice. This program is designed to prepare the graduate to utilize and apply the nursing process to provide nursing care to clients across the life span in a variety of settings. Upon successful completion of either program, the graduate will receive an Associate of Science Degree in Nursing and will be eligible to take the National Council Licensure Examination for Registered Nurses (NCLEX-RN). The objectives of the Associate of Science in Nursing Degree (ASN) Program are to provide the knowledge, clinical skills, nursing values, meanings, and experience necessary for an entry-level professional nursing position; this program will The Associate of Science Degree in Nursing Bridge Program allows Licensed Practical Nurses (LPN) and Paramedics the opportunity to apply their education and skills towards an ASN. LPNs and Paramedics enter the program at the beginning of Term 2. |
