CPR Courses Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers Initial The Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers course covers core material such as adult, child, and infant CPR skills, two-rescuer CPR, use of a pocket mask and the bag-mask device, foreign-body airway obstruction, and the use of the automated external defibrillator (AED). This course is presented in a practice-while-watching video format. It is designed for healthcare providers such as dentists, doctors, EMS personnel, lifeguards, medical assistants, nurses, paramedics, pharmacists, physician assistants, physical therapists, respiratory therapists, and others who require a credential documenting successful completion. This program includes both written and skills evaluations. A course completion card will be issued upon successful completion of the course requirements
Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers Renewal
The Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers renewal course reviews core material such as adult, child, and infant CPR skills, two-rescuer CPR, use of a pocket mask and the bag-mask device, foreign-body airway obstruction, and the use of the automated external defibrillator (AED). This course is presented in a practice-while-watching video format. It is designed for healthcare providers such as dentists, doctors, EMS personnel, lifeguards, medical assistants, nurses, paramedics, pharmacists, physician assistants, physical therapists, respiratory therapists, and others who have previously attended an initial American Heart Association Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers course and need to update their skills. Providers who intend to take the renewal course must present a valid and current American Heart Association Healthcare Provider card. The renewal program includes both written and skills evaluations. A course completion card will be issued upon successful completion of the course requirements.
Heartsaver® CPR AED The Heartsaver®
CPR AED course presents information and teaches skills that lay-rescuers need to respond to life-threatening emergencies involving adults, children, and infants. This course is presented in a practice-while-watching video format. It is designed for members of the community, such as babysitters or caregivers, coaches, fire and police personnel, security guards, teachers, and others who have a duty to respond to a cardiac emergency because of job responsibilities or regulatory requirements. A course completion card will be issued upon successful completion of the course requirements.
Heartsaver® CPR AED:
For Middle and High School Students This Heartsaver® CPR AED program is tailored for middle and high school students, in 8th through 12th grade. Students will learn CPR and relief of choking for adults, children and infants, the use of barrier devices, and the use of the automated external defibrillator (AED). This course is presented in a practice-while-watching video format. It is perfect for students planning summer employment as babysitters, camp/recreation counselors, waiters/waitresses, etc. Students will receive a course completion card upon successful completion of the course requirements.
Family and Friends®CPR and Family and Friends®
Family and Friends®CPR and Family and Friends® First Aid for Children The Family and Friends® programs are intended for family members who want to learn rescue skills for loved ones. This course is perfect for new and expectant parents, grandparents, relatives, and seniors. These classes present information and teach the skills for adult, child, and/or infant CPR, first aid for choking, prevention strategies, and what to do for common first aid emergencies that occur with young children until professional help arrives. Participants can choose from three course options:

Heartsaver® Adult First Aid The Heartsaver®
Adult First Aid course presents information and teaches skills that will prepare members of the community to respond to first aid emergencies involving adults. This course may be taken alone as a one- night course or as a two-night course in combination with the Heartsaver® CPR AED course. The Heartsaver® Adult First Aid course covers first aid basics, medical emergencies, injury emergencies and environmental emergencies. This program is presented in a practice-while-watching video format. A course completion card will be provided upon successful completion of the course requirements
Heartsaver® Pediatric First Aid The Heartsaver®
Pediatric First Aid course presents information and teaches skills that will prepare members of the community to respond to first aid emergencies involving children. This course may be taken alone as a one-night course or as a two-night course in combination with the Heartsaver® CPR AED course. This program is presented in a practice-while-watching video format. A course completion card will be provided upon successful completion of course requirements
